Wilson is an app designed for island residents that facilitates access to benefits, connects communities, supports the local economy, and strengthens the sense of belonging. My role was as a product designer, and by following the Design Thinking methodology, I created a product aimed at addressing specific issues faced by island communities.

The rising cost of living on islands, along with a lack of exclusive resources for residents, calls for a solution that optimizes access to benefits while building community. Wilson aims to fill this gap by creating an accessible, useful platform that eases island life, promotes the local economy, and supports social well-being.
We conducted qualitative and quantitative research through surveys, interviews, and benchmarking. The insights gathered revealed a disconnect among residents and a feeling of being deprioritized in favor of tourism, in addition to well-known issues. We used empathy maps and user personas to delve into their needs and design an experience that fosters belonging and prioritizes access to key services.
Wilson provides an intuitive platform tailored to island needs, enabling residents to manage benefits and connect with their communities. The solution promotes a sense of identity and exclusivity and is adaptable for future functionalities and portals that provide access to more relevant support. Wilson aims to establish itself as an essential resource for improving quality of life on the islands.
