Railway transportation in Spain has advanced with initiatives like the AVE, establishing itself as a sustainable option. However, improving the user experience remains key to achieving efficient, comfortable, and accessible journeys for all. In this project, we identified and addressed the main challenges, improving accessibility throughout the journey.
We applied Design Thinking to explore and resolve issues in the user experience. Through desk research, surveys, and interviews, we identified that orientation at stations is a significant challenge, especially for people with visual disabilities. This allowed us to define solutions centered around their needs and promote their independence.
Orienta is an app that guides users at stations using BLE beacons, offering precise routes, haptic and acoustic directions, and real-time alerts. It is free, inclusive, and improves accessibility, helping all travelers move independently, quickly, and efficiently.
